I use the UsedRange collection as in

oExcel.WorkBooks(1).Worksheets(1).UsedRange.Rows

or

oExcel.WorkBooks(1).Worksheets(1).UsedRange.Rows + oExcel.WorkBooks(1).Worksheets(1).UsedRange.Row - 1

since there might be some blank rows at the top.
