However, when I return to click on the main window of VFP, I see the message "lostfocus", and I click secondly on the main window of VFP, I see the message "gotfocus". In addition, if I click on a child window of the main VFP windows, I get anything!

Even at my work computer, I get inconsistent results. With Excel, it seems fine, but with Word, it doesn't trigger the LostFocus at all (similar to what you're seeing). My home system seems to work exactly the same in all cases, the same as what you're seeing. I guess that methodology just doesn't work well enough to use outside of VFP. I have a strong suspicion that since VFP doesn't use real Windows controls, this could be contributing to the problem. Sorry.
I still haven't figured out what's different from home and work, they should function the same, but don't. Both my home system and work system are WinXP/SP1 and VFP7/SP1.
