yes i am using 2k, the only change has been that i reformatted disks to ntfs from fat 32 but my overall set up is the same

Are you using the same version of Windows? WinFax 10.0 has problems under WinXP. See mskb #324755 Cannot Install or Use WinFax PRO 10.0 on Windows XP.
