Hi!
There is a "hosts" file in the system32/drivers/etc folder on each computer. IP addresses of computers like "michael" could be described there. Also, as far as I know, "michael" could be described in local DSN database in DSN service, if you have such on your server. This way browsers will know IP address by name automatically using DSN services. THe last thing is good for large LAN.
