I have created a windows service in .NET, added an installer and set the mode of the service as "USER" and supplied the login at install time. The service runs fine while I am logged onto the machine but quits when I log out. I tried to run the service as "LOCAL SYSTEM" but I dont think it is able to reach the database which is on a different layer. Should I install the service as a NETWORK SERVICE? If so, how do I supply the necessary parameters?
