I saw a similar report, Tom, but it did also say that this was "temporary" because of budget constraints. Like income taxes were "temporary", I'll bet!
To me it is a sad situation when the elders of this era - those who suffered terribly through up to 4 wars (or is it 5 or 6 or 7??) - have anything taken away from them. And to do so to those who actually PARTICIPATED in any of those WARS is so much the worse.
But I doubt seriously that the opinion of "the people" will have much impact on this. It hardly does here in Canada.
Sadly,
Jim
>I saw an interesting report on television news. Imagine veterans loosing hospital benefits at a time like this? If you are a veteran of the United States Military, up until now you had the right to receive hospital care from any VA hospital. That has changed effective immediately. Unless you have a medical condition defined on your discharge records related to the military you are not eligible for medical care! Those persons who do qualify have to wait up to six months for a doctor’s appointment.

>Not all veterns require care from a VA hospital but I am concerned about those men and women that have just lost a benifit which has been in effect for many decades, require or will require medical care and use or could have used the VA hospital for medical treatment.
