If you are on a Win98 terminal, I think I can help (had the same problem).
Go into Printers
Go to your default printer & right click
Choose properties
Choose details
Choose Port Settings
Uncheck both boxes

Slow DOS printing has not really been an issue on my XP terminals. BTW, my server is NT4 sp 6.
