>Well, yes, granted, no product is ever bug free. So we are going to make it our goal to ship with at least 4 or 5 of them. :-) Perhaps I need to talk to Eric so he can put some back in... :-)

>Seriously though: I think so far Voodoo has been doing quite well as far as bugs go. There was one unfortunate release that broke Netscape compatibility (damn them! :-) ), that we had to post a fix for.

For instance, this new version we are talking about has problems with the Opera 7 browser that we had to fix. They were caused by Opera identifying itself as IE6, yet at the same time it behaves different from IE6. So is that a bug? I guess so.

Markus;

“…in an environment that is somewhat unpredictable”. I like that phrase very much and this is the way I express myself when I am being pointed. That term describes the reason for my many hours of frustration creating web applications and attempting to have everything play seamlessly with all known browsers. Some people ask me what I mean when I say, “I am having a Browser experience”! Others know that when I make that remark it is best to stand clear of my area!

Somehow I might compare the Browser incompatibility of today with the BIOS incompatibilities that the original clone PC’s had during the 1980’s. You never knew how a clone would react to any software package! After being trained on PC’s at IBM they told me that, “to prove compatibility of a BIOS for use with any PC, a computer must be able to run Chuck Yeager’s Flight software”! Now what do we use to test Browser compatibility? A video game with Mickey Mouse comes to mind! :)
