To get much better usage, consider the command line version, rather than the screen saver. I've seen results processed from 2 to 10 times faster, when it didn't have to do all that graphics stuff. I average less than 4 hours per work unit on a Xeon 2.0 mHz processor - any that's while I busy compiling my VFP and C++ apps!

>>Yeah I've had it running constantly on between 20 and 50 pc's for a few years now. One thing to keep in mind when you run it though...it eats cpu cycles so it will lower the lifespan of your machine, and on a couple of flat-scren lcd's the seti screen-saver running all the time finally caused a minor case of 'burn-in' on the lcd screens.

>Interesting. I was not aware that it could lower the machine lifespan.
>I have found that selecting "go to blank screen" in the SETI screen saver setting improves the SETI processing speed. It doesn't have to do all the drawing to the screen.
