I do believe it is fast. I also had an experienced with RAID 5 + SCSI years ago. But still RAID 5 has some degradation performance because it has 2 protection scheme (mirror & ECC). What I meant before is, it is not fair to compare a new HD technology using RAID 0 (pure performance) and the other is an old technology using RAID 5 (pure protection). That's it.
