I have traced the problem to the fact that without VFP installed, the command line CREATEOBJECT("MSMAPI.MAPISESSION.1").

I am not sure as to all the hows, whys, and whatfors as to why this works with VFP installed and why it doesn't without VFP. But once I included the olecontrol "msmapi32.ocx" into the SYSTEM or SYSTEM32 folder (depending on the WIN OS) sending email using mapimail class works beautifully without VFP installed.

Maybe you can explain it to me.
