I agree about not wanting to use views, but I'm looking for a good alternative and I think the session class is the only other option. The problem with session class is that it is not supported in FPD26 of course and this code is also in our older FPD26 app so I will have to do 2 solutions instead of one. I'll research the session class and see what I can work out for the VFP7 code.

>Sorry, I missed that point. Go back to MyAlias = ALIAS(). But what if more than one table is open before you restore a view? Can you not just use a Session class to do this in? I do not save environments in views, so I do not know if they would respect the private DS of session class. I also just do not like them in a runtime/production setting.
