Most of the advances in cancer research are being done at universities, including the University of Calgary.

I'm not cynical enough to think that even the academics are also in it for only the money. In any event, any discoveries belong to the university, which are mainly funded by the government. That's one for socialized democracy, I guess.

And you're still welcome to purchase your medicine in Canada ... at substantially less than US prices ... as your seniors have learned.

Free trade works at least in one direction.

>I really do not think that anyone would ever find a cure for cancer or if i were found that the medical profession would completely release it. Way too much money is involved. Think about it, if a cure for cancer was ever found, look at all the researchers that would be out of a job and the billions of dollars that wouldnt be given in research anymore. It is like the 100 mile per gallon car, the big 3 or the petrolium companies have the plans, but do you really think they are going to let that out?

>>>Take a look also to http://members.ud.com/projects/cancer/ - Cancer Research project. It's up to you what research project to join, but I think currently cancer is more important than search for aliens.
