LOL! I was raised in D.C. so it took some getting used too.... to watch the reactions. If the weather people even say the word snow all the stores will empty of bread and milk. People are scared that they will be without power for a few days, etc. And the driving.... really a hoot.

Yeah, I know whaty you mean. I lived in Caversham for about 2 years ( a little town in England on the North bank of the River Thames right across from Reading ) and, being a MAritime climate, winter was very similar there. I don't think we ever saw snow the entire time wde lived there, but we did see some frost on a couple of occasions. Andy told me that they had 6 inches of snow back in around 1996 and that people actually died in their cars because they were trapped in them on the motorway for over 24 hours
