The only way I could find to do it was to keep track of the currently selected node (or figure it out at nodeclick time), and if the clicked node is to be 'disabled', set the treeview's selecteditem back to the currently selected node.

It isn't as clean as I'd like because there is a bit of a cursor flip, but in general it works ok.
