Not quite. Say you have a table where records are retrieved by a stock keeping unit (SKU). During the course of time, new records are added. Some of these may have a value that would appear earlier in the table because of that value. By re-ordering the table by SKU and then re-building the index, it (the index) will be up to 20% smaller. I'm not talking about huge amounts of records either. I've seen this occur when there are 1,000-2,000 records.
