Hilmar:

that 2nd solution you posted to me is great but I've still got a minor problem. I'll try and briefly explain the form:

-main list box on left controls record nav
-bunch of fields
-3 listboxes on right connected to unindexed tables (no unique fields)

On the click of the left listbox I have all the fields updating. After this I run a select sql and return the results into a cursor which I then scan through adding the results to the listboxes on the right. So after each click I have to create and destroy a few cursors. Now when I run the form on the second click of the left listbox (after one cursor has been created and destroyed using your code) I get an error asking me to identify the appropriate dbf file to open... however if I select IGNORE it goes ahead and works fine... so how can I get around that pesky error?

Thanks!!
