>I keep my menu picts in a seperate directory that is gloabal to all my applications. I create small pics in icon editor as 32x32\256 colors icons. I then copy\paste them into paint and shrink pallete to 16x16 and save as bmps. I have had no problems doing it this way.

Thanks Charlie. That is pretty much what I am doing. The problem is when I go back into the menu designer the second time. The paths to the .BMP files are changed and the radio button changes from 'File' to 'Resource'.
