XP also runs a Service called QOS - may be worth a look.
>One thought that occurs to me is that XP runs a service that is constantly updating indicies on all of your disk drives. This feature is an aid for doing queries on your drives. You might want to turn this off as a test.

>>>Thanks for your attention, however I don't think this matter relate to hardware or network, virus scanners, because the trouble machines belong to different clients, and the variation of config. is huge. Furthermore, one of the machine is running on its own - no server and no other workstations, and one of the machine hasn't any virus scanner.
>>>I also don't think it is related to coding, if coding causes slow down under WinXP, then it should cause slow down under 98 and win2k either, unless there is somthing new in XP that makes program behavior different.
>>>You said installation, that may be a possible cause, I can try to install a copy of VFP to the trouble machine and see if it makes improvement.
>>>
>>>Anybody out there has the same experience? Am I alone?
