Ria,

1. Make sure you do NOT have SET CARRY ON. Should be OFF.

2. The new record may appear to be the top record if you have an indexed file and your key field is a lower value than others. Check it with RECNO() and it should equal RECCOUNT() (assuming you have no deleted records).
