Hi Mathew.

It's saying that 'OLE IDispatch Exception code 0 from CDO.message.1: The transport failed to connect to the server...'. As I mentioned before I am currently running OutLook 2002 on Windows XP Professional without MS Exchange at all (Local PC Only). Could this be the reason why I am getting the error?

No. You do not need an Exchange server to send e-mail using CDO for Windows 2000 (or CDOex in the case Windows XP). All you need is access to an SMTP server over the net.

The message is telling you that your configuration object is not set up correctly since it can't connect to the server.

The easiest way to configure a default configuration for CDO is to configure Outlook Express (That's Outlook EXPRESS. This is NOT the same as Outlook <s>). Try sending an e-mail manually using Outlook express. If you can do that, you should be able to send mail using CDO.

If you do not want to install and configure Outlook Express, you need to manually set the properties on ythe CDO.Confiuration object to tell it where to find the SMTP server.

You can try taking a look at the Platform SDK for CDO for Windows 2000 in the Messaging and Collaboration section of the MSDN library.
