The government runs VFP6 apps from Novell servers (originally 4.x, then 5.x, and now 6.x)-I know because I wrote some of them up until approx 2 years ago. They are still being used today. In some instances, the app is installed on the client and it accesses data on the server (in the case of WANS). In other instances, the app is run entirely from the server. IT works just as well as with Windows servers and I have not had the problems others have posted regarding locked files in years. Basically, it is important that if the Novell client is used (which it is in many cases for administration purposes and security reasons) then both the server and the client must be configured correctly for use with VFP. There are many posts here on the UT on optimizing Novell for use with VFP that should help you.

>If you mean put on the Novell server then executed from a workstation, yes that will work w/ 2.6 as it is really old and doesn't require lots of .dlls and registry entries. As to a "network installation" VFP. I don't think so. But am not sure. I'd haveta' guess no.
