In the Download section here there is a class by Denis Gavrikov called GridSaver. You can try it, if you want. Source code could be purchased for some price (I believe).

There was an article by Robert Pierce about making such control in one of the earliest UT Magazines.

Also Vlad Grynchyshyn started to write such control, but it was almost a year ago when we last spoke about it...
