The greater bay area enjoyed a rare treat last night as master VFP coder Drew Speedie put his Visual MaxFrame Professional 2002 through the paces. The 2 hour presentation started with an enlightening 15 minute delve into Drew's favorite new capability in VFP8 (which is Event Binding).

Whetting our appetite for the just released VFP version 8, Drew showed us how otherwise unreachable events (like the _SCREEN.REFRESH() method) could be bound to other available events, methods and even properties. Drew showed us how entire layers of class hierarchies could be eliminated by cleverly using BINDEVENTS(), thus greatly simplifying application development.

Numerous features and capabilities of the VMP framework were covered by Drew at the meeting and many positive comments were heard as the gathering broke up.
