I would like to thank the Chicago FUDG and the Dallas Fort Worth User Group for inviting me to speak to their groups about my Report Engine Tool and for the wonderful hospitality they extended me this week. There is definitely a lot of great stuff being done by members in both of these groups and they are an excellent resource for exchanging ideas and continued education. So if you are in their area I highly recommend that you attend their meetings!

It was truly a busy week for me visiting both groups in one week. They both had an excellent turn out and lasted through my marathon presentation covering my Report Engine control and other VFP tricks. I hope everyone got something useful out of my presentation and liked what they saw. The DFW User Group, listened to me for 3 hours and after that they still let me ride along with them to Dennys after the meeting.

Also, congratulations to Mike Beane in Chicago and Donald Hay in Dallas, who each won a Report Engine Professional License in the raffle.

I also want to thank Bruce Allen for picking me up from the airport in Dallas and getting me to the meeting and then getting me to my hotel. At dinner, Bruce and I exchanged ideas on how to improve VFP's Report Writer and what those improvements could do for VFP's market. Bruce has a lot of great ideas and I learned a lot by listening to him. Mark McCasland was originally going to pick me get me at the airport, but there was a death in his family and he was unable to do so. Our thoughts are with him and his family.

I have already been getting a lot of excellent feedback from members of both groups. I'm passionate and committed to building a Report Tool that overcomes the limitations of the VFP Report Writer and is easy to use and makes it more like a desktop publishing tool rather than just a banded report engine.
