You're missing the point. Empty dates should be considered as included in VFP for backward compability. You cannot deal with empty dates if you decide to access your data over ODBC or ADO because neither of them has a concept of empty dates. You cannot upsize tables with empty dates to SQL Server or Oracle for the same reason.
