This message has been marked as the solution to the initial question of the thread.
This Top 10 is not related to the VFP install, this is a Windows Installer thing. I suspect at some point you installed something called Top 10 which uses components that VFP also uses, most likely ActiveX controls.

With the following steps, you can hopefully find out what the installer is looking for.

After you get the setup dialog, look in your Event Viewer Application log for a couple of Warning events with Source = MsiInstaller.

As a test, I renamed mscomctl.ocx, then ran VFP and the Class Browser (on Win2K) as a test.

I got 2 events, the first was eventID 1004 and contains this:

Detection of product '{235D8A94-2F97-11D6-A551-0090278A1BB8}', feature
'VFP8_Professional', component '{22056900-C842-11D1-A0DD-00A0C9054277}'
failed. The resource 'C:\WINNT\System32\mscomctl.ocx' does not exist.

The 2nd event was ID 1001, and contains this:

Detection of product '{235D8A94-2F97-11D6-A551-0090278A1BB8}', feature
'VFP8_Professional' failed during request for component
'{22056900-C842-11D1-A0DD-00A0C9054277}'

Hopefully in your case, the 1004 event will show a file which cannot be found.

>When tring to click ok on the Task Pane, the install kicks in with a setup window named "Top 10". It is looking for Top10.msi. Anyone know how I should workaround that problem and have it installed?
