You can still use them safely, but you would have to change any INSERT SQL statements to SCATTER MEMVAR MEMO and GATHER MEMVAR MEMO this seems to work Ok However SCATTER TO and GATHER FROM has the same problems as the INSERT SQL. To be safe I used specific REPLACE commands for each field, a biit of work, but the problem went away after that.
