You need text.ControlSource when the textbox is not inside a grid, that's why it's there, it might be a little confusing at first but you only need to figure it out once, besides it's much easier to set the controlsource for the column interactively than for the text, since you would have to dig in deeper. Of course you could just drag the table from the data environment into the form and have VFP take care of the whole binding for you :).
