Rolf, looks like the existing debugging only works in VFP 7/8 on Win2000 Pro or Server(and NT ?) and not on XP. I exchanged e-mails with Maurice De Beijer(who wrote the debugger) and he confirmed this.
The alternative for XP is to use the method Rick Strahl came up with. I guess it will work with all versions. It described near the end of the article under "Debugging your COM Server" at:
