Good point, we had a client with a mixture of Win98, Win2k and WinXP, the WinXP machines constantly corrupted data. The engineers could find no problem, the client upgraded 4 computers and installed WinXP on all at great cost.
I have since found out about write caching which incredibly defaults to ON on WinXP machines (I think)
Thank the good Lord I am not an engineer (especially that one)
