If you're speaking of VB 6.0 or before, yes, it'd probably be easier. VB.NET, however, is so much different than its predecessors, I'd say no.
One thing that I don't know is how earlier versions of VB would react to the data type suffixes. For example, LEFT$() as opposed to Left(). I do know that some features in QB didn't make it to VB (the PLAY command comes to mind). Screen I/O is another area.
With VFP you'd have do quite a bit more because of syntactical differences. InStr() as opposed to AT(), for a example. Not only is the function differently named, but the order of the parameters is different.
