As others have posted, its just a generic name. When this name is referenced VFP searches the files George posted in his message. This information can be found in the help under Declare - DLL.
However, since some searching is involved when you specify this and consequently some overhead, I would recommend specifying the exact DLL where possible. It makes for better documented code and it is ever so slightly faster.
