I am looking for opinions as to whether I should proceed with VFP7 and Westwind Connection or Proceed using the VFP8 beta until the production version is available for purchase outside an MSDN Subscription.

Tom,

It's really too early to draw any conclusions outside of what we've been told about 8.0 (It's the most stable version ever). I haven't had any problems, so far, but again, it's only been a week.

8.0 does offer some XML enhancements such as XML classes (field, table, etc.) as well as, if I recall correctly, some enhancements to CursorToXML(), XMLToCursor() and XMLUpdateGram().
