My startup file is:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe /s "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\BINN\SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC"

You have to pass into the MMC a parameter so it knows how to act.
