It's not clear that you really understand what _incseek does.
If you set _incseek to 0.5, the user needs to press the keys within 0.5 seconds of each other for VFP to consider it to continue incremental seek. If it's more than 0.5 seconds between any two keypresses the second one will start a new seek. If you set the value to 1.0 the user has up to 1 second between keystrokes to still be continuing an incremental seek.
I find that my users like a value of between 0.5 and 1.0 seconds for _incseek. If you set it too long it can get annoying in the other direction. At anytime pressing up or down arrow will cancel the current incremental seek and allow a new one to start.
