I see what you mean. In this case it would be fine since I am the only one accessing the table ,but I am waiting for the release of funds to upgrade so I can auto-increment the field.

>Best case, this is a slow way to calculate primary keys. Worst case, as Sergey said, it won't work in multi-user environment. Check out article on www.craigberntson.com on primary keys...since your table is free, you don't have default value, and you will have to call the function manually.
