Nadya;
It may be possible to use ADO RDS on the client side. I found it to be flaky so I stayed away from it. The Wrox book Professional ADO RDS Programming with ASP has examples.
Version 3.0 was the last version of ASP as far as I know, before ASP.NET came out. ASP 2.0 will work fine. What tool do you use to work with ASP? I use Visual Interdev 6.0.
I will zip up a file for you to examine as soon as I can. It will have a number of features I think you can use. I think you will get the basic idea.
