I believe the limit of concurrent processes is officialy 5 with MSDE, and yea it seems to be normal behaviour so I won't worry about it too much, thanks.

You should see a message in your MSDE log when you exceed it. Also, remember when you do exceed it (I think it is around 8) all of the work will slow-not just the one that sent it over.
