Hopefully it will have quietened by the time you return.

Do you have any idea what precipitated the whole thing. The article says imposition of an income tax, but what caused the government to resort to such a tax? I'm thinking here of the "friendly" World Bank or IMF as possibly having some (indirect?) influence on that decision.
