IMHO, Linux is as complex as W2K, and you do not have as large a base for support as you do with a Windows based product.
If you just run the standard version of W2K server, it is no more complex than Windows 2000 pro, XP Pro, etc. You set up networking, users, shares, and off you go. Now if you go the route of establishing a domain, setting up AD, etc then I agree that it gets hard to manage. But if not, it's nothing more than W2K Pro.
