Matt,

The indexes will NEVER step on each other as all cursors have unique file names, the name you give them is their alias name. Secondly there is no way to SET RELATION without an index since the documentation says that the target of the relation has to indexed on the expression for the relation. The only thing that works without an index is if the expression is numeric, then the record number in the target is used for the relation.
