Another reminder from your friendly neighborhood C# Study Group - http://www.csharpstudygroup.com

I'd like to apologies to everyone about last month - I do hope that everyone understands how sometimes clients can keep you pretty busy. That was the case with me. A little bit of over-time, a little bit of travel and a whole lot of work. Hopefully things will settle down a little and I can get back to research and put some more time into the C# Study Group.

*** Upcoming Meetings ***
Pasadena - February 20, 2003 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Session #1: OOP Techniques
This is actually a short presentation since most of you already know most OOP Techniques - however, it does show some techniques used in C# that may be new those learning

Session #2: Object Oriented Concepts
C# Introduces several new OOP features - as we’ve been working with C# we see that programming has taken a turn in a different direction. Some features are good while others can be confusing. In either case, these new features will change the way you program.

Many New Techniques are influence by Strict Typing - we’ve seen that C# is a very strict typed language. It expects you properly type variables before casting, you need indicate the data type on parameters, the list goes on and on…

Other Features are subtle but important - although C# is considered a strict typed language there are a few places where missing modifiers can cause unexpected behavior in your code

Woodland Hills - March 3, 2003
Session #1: Looking at Frameworks
Microsoft's .NET Framework is a "bag-o-development-goodies". It's a tool set for building applications ranging from games to utilities and even business applications. But where do you start and what do you use?

For this we have frameworks. In this session we'll cover the different companies that provide frameworks that assist you in building applications. We'll also be taking an in dept look at Oakleaf's Mere Mortals.NET Framework. This is a session you don't want to miss!

*** INETA Goodies ***
Where do I begin? I'll start with Window 2003 Final Beta CD's, ChartFX for .NET, AppDev Training CD's and Upgrading to .NET Microsoft's Press Book. Plus a lot more goodies. I guarantee you won't leave without something.
