Perhaps you can answer this. I was running ISE 4.0 Beta and, in order to make the XML functions work in VFP7, I needed MSXML3*.* in the winsys folder so included the MSXML3.MSM in the dependencies.
I built to a CD image without compression and sure enough MSXML3*.* are there in the setup package waiting to be installed. Only trouble is, they don't get installed.
Target machine was a clean Win2K SP2.
During the beta program Installshield said these problems were the fault of the .MSM authors (i.e. Microsoft in this case). I am inclined to agree as every .MSM I have looked at in detail seems to pre-position its contents in a different folder in the CD install package (when the destination is always the same - winsys).
I am puzzled. Any clues?
