You are right. Though strange behaviour from my point of view. Do you know why did they set it this way?

>If the table is set to buffering mode 5, you can use REPLACE command on multiple records & no data gets written to the table until you issue a TABLEUPDATE command. But in a buffering mode 3, soon you move to the next record after issuing a REPLACE command, the data get written automatically to the table even though you never issued a TABLEUPDATE command
