There is a huge difference between someone who has always been perfect and a guy who use to be in the Klan. Combine this with his "white nigger" remark last year, and I won't bother wasting my time listening to this guy.

My other problems with Byrd's remarks were how he brought politics into it. Rather than sticking with the specifics of Bush Administration policty towards Iraq, he had to launch into a message about the Bush's handling of the economy. Typical politics... just another reason to ignore this guy.

>I wonder how many other "leaders" you should also ignore then??? Would most southern white congressmen/senators over 50 have a chance of being such too? Byrd's last recorded connection with the Klan seems to date back to 1947.
>And what about anyone who supported Thurmond's presidential bid way back when?
>Do you have the same criteria for pro-life or pro-choice people too? What about people who like the colour red (or purple or blue or...)? What about people who don't drive SUVs?

>Trite remarks like this may seem cute, but unless they're coming from someone who has always been perfect, they're really stupid.
