>If I were to upgrade an application from VFP 6.0 to VFP 8.0, what are the problems I am likely to face ? If the application is to reside on 40 clients connected to a windows 2000 server, is there any problem ? How about having to redo forms and reports ?

The only real potential problem is if you are using ActiveDocs since VFP 8.0 no longer supports ActiveDocs due to security issues - but, you can always run VFP6 and VFP7 runtime DLLs side by side with the VFP 8.0 runtime and continue to use ActiveDocs for backward compatibility. I'm sure some people can post a few tips on what to look for when upgrading to VFP 8.0, but nothing to cause significant concern or effort. VFP 8.0 runs great on Windows 2000 Server as well as Windows XP. Forms are reports can remain as-is 100%, as for almost all other parts of your VFP 6.0 application. The only "real" concern you should have in upgrading to VFP 8.0 from VFP 6.0 is what to do what all the "free time" you will have from being far more productive with IntelliSense and all the many great productivity features in VFP 8.0. :)
