Are you using VFP7?

I tested this in both VFP 7 and VFP 8. It certain should be easy enough for you to verify. Just create an empty formset and put this code in its load:

MESSAGEBOX( 'Here I am...' )
RETURN .F.

You will see that this code does not crash VFP. Therefore, what must be causing the problem is some other line of code.
