In first point I agree with you. My opinion was to aggressive.
In second point - I did not think that it would be consume many resources.
Maybe true is opposite - evaluation version could increase sales of VFP and in such way compensate the additional efforts. I look at all the things from may own little perspective - I am sure that sales of my apps would be decreased if I wouldn't have evaluation versions. It seems that the opinion is quite common in sofware industry.
