Hi Evan,
In VFP, when you delete a record, the record stays in the table. However, in SQL Server, a deleted record is removed and cannot be recalled. Therefore, you wouldn't need to "pack" the tables like in VFP.
>Thinking more outside of the box... the only reason I need unload the COM components, is so that I can do my monthly pack of the VFP tables. If I move from Fox to SQL Server, will I need to do a monthly reindex/pack? Yearly?

>>I think this is still an unresolved problem. It would be nice if you could 'Unload' like you can with a VFP mtdll called from ASP ...
>>>Can I unload COM DLLs and EXEs from memory using ASP.NET?

>>>I would like to remove my biztier DLL and reporting EXE from IIS memory before running a month-end routine on the server. I could use IISRESET at the command prompt on the server, but I will be using a shared server and don't want to disturb apps outside of my virtual directory.
